The forecast was for a stormy afternoon. So that voice in my head started singing “red sky in the morning...”, and the other voice told me I would need an early start to get up in time to admire the 6am sunrise. At least staying overnight in Ballarat made the trip to Lake Wendouree be only a few minutes.
With the growing noise of the waking swans starting to stir, and the light starting creep over the lake, the sky started to ignite. And for those precious few moments, the sky was alight. And after only minutes, the magic had left the sky, and the day was truly underway.
So, priorities: breakfast.
